WELCOME TO THE RETIREES TRAVEL GUIDE SERIES OF BOOKS.

Retired or planning for your retirement in the future? South East Asia is waiting to welcome you. Whether you are planning on retiring to a country where your pension dollars will stretch much further than they do in your own country, or maybe your just want to visit and take in the excitement of the mystical Far East. The books in the Retirees Guide to South East Asia series will give you all of the information you need to enjoy the experience. The books are filled with money-saving ideas and tips to help you not only live within your budget, but live your life to the fullest, and enjoy everything that South East Asia has to offer. These informative books are a day by day account of my own travels throughout South East Asia on a retiree’s budget. I am not backpacker, I love my comforts, staying in nice hotels, eating in good restaurants, a decent glass of wine, drinking cocktails and going on tours. On the flip side I also enjoy saving money by eating street food, living like a local and having “money free days”, days where I try not to spend anything except on food so that I can perhaps splurge the next day, and treat myself if I want to. As the old Moody Blues album states "it’s a question of balance".  I am often amazed by some of the people I have spoken to on my travels who have just booked their trip with a local travel agent and have not checked the prices elsewhere. Though we may have travelled on the same aeroplane, gone on the same tour or be staying in the same hotel, the price I paid was sometimes half of what they had paid. The Retirees Guide to South East Asia series of books will give you some great ideas on how you can save money when you travel, as well as give you an insight into some of the great retirement areas within South East Asia and the best things to see and do when visiting these exotic Far Eastern Countries.

My philosophy when travelling is “ Be frugal, not cheap, look for deals and don’t waste money, but don’t miss out on great experiences or walk miles just to save a couple of dollars. Time is money, spend them both wisely”.
